Testimonials From Our Students
Read what some of our students have to say about our classes and how it has helped them gain a new lease of life.
The doctors had told me that my kidneys were at a severe stage. The GFR reading he took was at 16mL/min. If it dropped to 15mL/min, I would have to go for dialysis as that’s the point they considered as kidney failure.
When I started my training with Nam Wah Pai, I wasn’t hopeful and I had resigned myself to attending dialysis. But after about 1 month of qigong training, my GFR level rose to 18 mL/min. And by the third month, it had increased to 24 mL/min.
Naturally, I was shocked and happy that I no longer have to go for dialysis as originally planned. And I hope to continue to further improve my health condition by attending regular qigong training here at Nam Wah Pai.-Fei Loong, 68 years old
For over 20 years, I’ve been living with the ‘three highs’ diseases – high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar.
My blood pressure was constantly at the range of 170/100, cholesterol level at 220, and my blood sugar level was at 10.6. Because of this, I had been on medication for over 10 years to control my condition. It’s not a fun or happy thing to be taking the same medicine every day. Worse, I often feel tired, and my hands and feet always felt freezing cold.
What surprised me after about 2 months of training was that the three “highs” started to be under control.
My blood pressure dropped to 130/85, my cholesterol levels reduced to 120, and my blood sugar level fell to 5.6 with regular training at Nam Wah Pai. Not only could I reduce the reliance of medication I had been taking all these years, but I also felt younger and more energized. So, I want to say a big thank you to Nam Wah Pai for giving me this opportunity.-Koh Kim Teng, 75 years old
I used to suffer from poor blood circulation that caused me to have both stiff neck and stiff body problems. This made it difficult for me to sleep at night.
I tried everything from TCM to different beds and mattresses, but none of them solved the problem. So, to help me alleviate the pain, I would pop Panadol pills every other hour. I knew this wasn’t a solution, but nothing else had seemed to work.
Finally, my wife saw Nam Wah Pai’s advertisement and wanted to check it out for herself. I was sceptical and chose to wait in the car while she attended the demonstration and later on the classes.
She used to have a weak grip and wouldn’t notice dollar bills slipping through her fingers. But after a few sessions, her grip got stronger, and I decided to go down for the demonstration and see for myself.
It wasn’t immediate, but after about 6 or 7 weeks, my body started to recover some of its former strength and flexibility. Best of all, I became less reliant on the painkillers and have stopped taking them now altogether.
That for me is one of the best things I’ve gotten here at Nam Wah Pai because it has given me a huge part of my life back.-David Tan, 56 years old
I had a serious case of gout which affected my joints, causing myself to have difficulty in walking properly. My medication was the only way I could get on with my day-to-day activities.
Ever since I discovered qigong and tai chi at Nam Wah Pai, the training has made a big difference to my life.
Continuously training, I’ve realised how my gout symptoms were slowly fading away in time. That spurred me to continue with the following exercises and, thankfully, had not experienced an episode ever since.
In fact, I’m no longer under medication. All along, the training has proven to be helpful in enhancing one’s health, especially towards people in the older age.
In my eyes, I’ve seen how effective the training has nurtured in my life. By simply walking away from my medicine and turning to Qigong practice instead, I’ve never felt more relieved.-Martin, 66 years old
My job as a pilot can be stressful at times. To ensure that we are literally “fit” for the job, we have to maintain a certain level of physical fitness in order to operate the aircraft. As I got older, I found myself getting tired easily and my blood pressure was on the high side at 140/90.
A friend of mine introduced me to Qigong and Tai Chi classes at Nam Wah Pai and after a month of training here, I knew that continuing this practice and lifestyle would help me in sustaining my career as a pilot for as long as I was allowed to.
I no longer worry as much during fitness examinations and my blood pressure is now at a healthy range, and I feel much more energised to complete my task at work and daily activities.-Yang Fong, 58 years old
I have been practicing at Nam Wah Pai for more than 10 years and it has helped me improve my physical and spiritual health. This was the best decision I made for myself and I feel the benefits of these trainings every day.
As a diabetic, one significant surprising change was discovering that my blood sugar had gone down from 9.6 to 5.5 during health check-up at the clinic. Now my blood sugar level stays at a healthy range with regular Qigong training at Nam Wah Pai. Thank you Master Sim and everyone at Nam Wah Pai for helping me discover a better life.-Chan Teck Chye, 65 years old
Practicing Qigong and Tai Chi regularly with Nam Wah Pai has changed my life for the better. I started practicing when I was looking for ways to improve my health and strengthen my immune system.
I used to fall sick very easily and had to visit the doctor every few months to take medication. I knew this was not good for me in the long term and it was disruptive to my work when I had to frequently be on sick leave.
When I first tried Qigong, I was surprised that a year passed by quickly and I was still practicing regularly! To me, it doesn’t feel as much of a chore as other forms of exercise as it also helps me clear my mind and energizes me mentally.
It has now been more than 10 years since I joined Nam Wah Pai and my immune system and health has definitely improved.-Foo Chek Jui, 72 years old
About 6 months ago, I went for a knee operation. Although I followed my doctor’s advice on being patient and going for physical therapy regularly, I still experienced difficulty moving around. As weeks passed, I grew increasingly frustrated that I could not perform daily tasks without feeling pain.
My doctor advised that everyone’s recovery process is different and it could take a longer time for me, as I was overweight. I was conflicted and didn’t know what to do. I needed to improve my health by exercising to lose weight but yet I was feeling pain even while walking!
Thankfully, my son searched for activities I could do to help improve my condition and chanced upon Qigong and Tai Chi courses at Nam Wah Pai. He encouraged me to give it a try and although the initial process was tough, after a month of practice, I noticed a significant improvement in my overall health.
I no longer felt pain and tiredness from walking and my weight dropped from 80kg to 72kg. Practising Qigong and Tai Chi at Nam Wah Pai has really helped me in my recovery process and improved my overall health and wellbeing.-Toh Ah Chee, 78 years old
Surprising as it sounds, I have been on medication for 20 years now. Roughly around my fifties, my health began to decline, leading myself to rely on medication to keep up with my strength. In between those 20 years, I had suffered health issues like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, trouble breathing, and being overweight.
More or less, I started feeling weary and dizzy while my body trembles cold. I even had breathless moments when walking for no more than 3 minutes. These sunken feelings left me frustrated more than ever in my life.
This prompted me to make actionable choices – to figure out what I can do to improve my health. Through word of mouth, I heard about Nam Wah Pai sessions and how it impacted people’s lives in different ways. Convinced with the results, I devoted my time to Nam Wah Pai and its teachings.
After training here at Nam Wah Pai, I had significant changes resulting in weight reduction, feeling more energetic, my blood pressure and cholesterol levels were inching closer to the healthy range, and having the ability to walk for 1km without feeling out of breath. Although the result was astonishing, I’ve never felt more relief in the longest time.-Wai Leng, 77 years old
