Tan Yang Seng

Chief Instructor

Like my brother, I was introduced to qigong from the tender age of 6 years old.

And as a young boy growing up during the heydays of Bruce Lee and Jacky Chan, I was proud of my kung fu skills and background. But little did I realise then, that not only was my martial arts background something I took great pride in, but it had also subtly honed me to become someone disciplined, humble and respectful to everyone I meet. Fellow martial artists and individuals alike.

I’ve had many wonderful opportunities over the years. In 1988, I was appointed as branch instructor to both Ngee Ann and Temasek polytechnic. And after I returned from the UK in 2000, I was re-appointed as HQ instructor and am now a Chief Instructor here in Nam Wah Pai.

In 2006, I was invited to a qigong competition organised by MediaCorp and was crowned the champion of the competition. I was also the champion in a brick-breaking competition with a record of breaking 40 bricks in under a minute.

Without a doubt, qigong has always been a part of my life. And I’m happy to continue sharing this knowledge with our students and anyone open to listening.
